From the development and launch of systematic investment solutions to strategic and operational support – hands-on expertise across the entire value chain.
S³ works closely with quantitative asset managers in the co-development of strategies. The focus is on rules-based, evidence-based approaches – from factor strategies for equities to dynamic multi-asset solutions.
In parallel, S³ develops its own models, positioned medium-term as licensable solutions for institutional investors.
A compelling strategy is only the beginning. The next step is turning it into investable products that meet the requirements of pension funds, insurers, and asset managers regarding regulation, transparency, costs, and liquidity.
The primary focus is on regulated investment funds. S³ has already accompanied several funds from initial concept through regulatory structuring to launch and scaling. The service spectrum also covers managed accounts, structured products, and licensable model portfolios alongside collective investment schemes.
S³ systematically opens up institutional and professional target clients in Switzerland – pension funds, banks, insurers, and independent asset managers. Access is based on the existing network and a disciplined acquisition process.
S³ also supports the design of the distribution strategy, the evaluation of channels and personnel, the creation of marketing materials, and the automated generation of factsheets.
Advisory on strategic and regulatory questions of principle at the investment manager level – such as regulatory setup and licence choice, the target operating model, the trading infrastructure, as well as risk management, organisation, and personnel.
This includes selecting suitable service providers and systems, including structured RFP processes. S³ draws on a broad network, particularly in Switzerland and Luxembourg.
Beyond advisory, S³ can step in operationally – as an experienced hand in the day-to-day management of funds and asset managers. This includes process setup, interface management with fund management, custodians, and auditors, operational support for launches and transformation projects, as well as board mandates at funds and operating companies.
The foundation is years of hands-on practice: setting up, administering, and operating investment funds and managed accounts, building umbrella structures (UCITS and SICAV-SIF in Luxembourg), leading a FINMA licensing process as a manager of collective assets, and running a regulated asset manager for over a decade.
S³ supports investors in analysing and restructuring complex portfolios, as well as in fund evaluation and peer-group comparisons – with experience in private market investments too.
The perspective is the investor's: an independent, experienced assessment of existing investments and structures – for asset owners such as pension funds, insurers, and family offices.
S³ supports technology-focused companies in building client relationships, distribution structures, and market positioning. The focus is on business development – access to relevant decision-makers, building partnerships, and opening new markets.
This area is deliberately kept open: technology companies with a substantial product and clear value proposition – also outside asset management – are welcome.
